My approach

Very often it is difficulties and challenges in our lives that first bring us to therapy. I aim to create a safe and supportive space where you can explore your concerns and where we work collaboratively to resolve them sustainably. My goal is that you will find therapy a powerful tool for personal growth; an experience which will help you to live a flourishing and fulfilled life.

In my work as a therapist, I bring together a range of psychotherapeutic approaches to meet the individual needs of clients, including CBT; ACT and other mindfulness-based approaches; Schema therapy for individuals and couples; psychodynamic; and systemic modalities. I am highly skilled in tailoring and integrating different models of therapy to meet the needs of each client.

My experience as a therapist and a coach

I work with a wide range of psychological issues, including anxiety, depression, bereavement, phobias, compulsive behaviour, obsessions, panic, trauma, stress, personality disorder, eating disorder, and perinatal mental health.

I have extensive experience working with individuals and couples in relation to family and relationship conflict and have a special therapeutic interest in sexual and domestic violence, and in stress-related or exacerbated physical health conditions and chronic pain. I have completed specialist training in CBT for lower back pain and on the relationship between diet and mood. I am also trained in exercise prescription for the treatment of anxiety and depression.

In parallel with my work as a therapist, I am an experienced coach, working with individuals in a corporate context to promote personal effectiveness and to navigate challenges at work successfully. I have worked at a senior level in strategy and people development with public, private and voluntary sector organisations, from small-scale start-ups to national bodies with tens of thousands of employees.

I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). In addition to my professional qualifications, I hold a BA Hons in English and an MPhil in American Literature from Cambridge University.
